ABOUT

We Lived the Problem.
So We Built the Solution.

Popsicle wasn't conceived in a boardroom. It was born on event sites — in parking lots, green rooms, and 5 AM load-ins — by people who got tired of patching workflows together with spreadsheets and group texts.

Our Story

From the Field to the Platform

Before Popsicle, our team spent years managing multi-week blue-chip marketing activations across Canada — the kind of programs where a single miscommunication about staffing can cascade into a five-figure budget overrun by the end of the week. We knew every workaround by heart: the shared Google Sheet that three people were editing simultaneously, the WhatsApp group that nobody read until it was too late, the end-of-event reconciliation that took longer than the event itself.

We tried the existing workforce management tools. They were built for hospitals and warehouses — not for the chaotic, high-stakes world of live events where plans change by the hour and your staff doesn't sit at a desk. The check-in systems assumed everyone had an app installed. The reporting tools assumed your rates were uniform. The scheduling tools assumed your events started on Monday and ended on Friday.

So we built what we needed: a platform that works the way event operations actually work — fast, flexible, and forgiving of the chaos. Something your field staff can use without training. Something your ops managers can check from their phone between setups. Something that closes the loop from scheduling to reconciliation without the cross-referencing nightmare. That platform became Popsicle.

Our Values

What We Stand On

Radical Transparency

We believe the best business relationships have no fine print. Our pricing is published, our features are clearly documented, and our support team gives you straight answers — not upsell scripts. When something goes wrong, we tell you. When we make a mistake, we own it. The events industry has enough surprises; your software vendor shouldn't be one of them.

Field-First Thinking

Every feature in Popsicle is designed for the person standing on a concrete floor, not sitting in a corner office. We test with real event staff, not just product managers. If a workflow takes more than two taps on a phone, we redesign it. This philosophy extends from our SMS-based check-in to our one-click reconciliation — the field comes first, always.

Institutional Rigour

We hold ourselves to the same standard our clients hold their operations to: every hour accounted for, every dollar traceable, every action audited. Popsicle maintains complete audit trails, enforces data encryption at rest and in transit, and follows PIPEDA compliance standards — because your staffing data is sensitive, and treating it with anything less than institutional rigour is unacceptable.

Earned Trust

Trust in the events industry isn't given — it's earned program by program, season by season. We don't ask for annual commitments because we believe you should stay because the product works, not because the contract says so. Our clients renew because Popsicle makes their operations better, and that's the only metric that matters to us. Every feature we ship, every support ticket we resolve, is in service of earning the next renewal.
